Free Guitar Workshop!
If you like blues or jazz, I'm 97% sure you'll agree with this:
1) The best blues has a pinch of jazz to make it a bit more sophisticated.
2) The best jazz has a bit of blues to keep it grounded and lyrical.
If you agree with this, I have some great news: I’m hosting a free live online masterclass on Friday, September 5, 2025, where we’ll explore—from every angle—how to make your blues more sophisticated and your jazz more bluesy.

If you are tired of using the same typical pentatonic licks, this is for you. If you always found jazz intimidating, this is for you.
We’ll dig deep into improvisation and how to build lines that carry the heart of blues with the freedom of jazz. We’ll look at harmony, unlocking how even simple progressions can feel more colorful, more intentional. We’ll explore solo guitar arranging, pulling together chords, melody, and bass into something fluid and personal. We’ll even break down bass lines, phrasing, specific artists, historical context, and what makes certain players sound so unmistakably rich. Nothing will be off the table.
This workshop isn’t just a one-off.
It’s part of a monthly cycle in my Skool community, where over 90 guitarists are steadily growing through hands-on breakdowns, courses, feedback, live meetings, and challenges.
Here's how the cycle goes:
1) Each month, the group votes on a topic, artist, or tune. That vote sets the focus for our First Fridays masterclass, which then becomes a full course with tabs, notation, and step-by-step lessons. This month’s theme was that jazz blues connection, but nothing is off the table. Maybe next month will be rock harmony, the community decides.
2) After the session, the challenge begins. You'll get access to all the materials, so you can take what you learned and make it your own and post your interpretation to our community. There's something for all skill levels, some players may choose to just play the bass notes, others may be working on improvisation, the goal is to work at your level at your pace with support and guidance.
3) As the community works on the challenge, we're also voting for next month's topic, and the cycle repeats.
Please note: There will be no public reply. Only registered attendees will get access to the video, tab, and lesson files.
